We are pleased to announce two weeks of Summer Ringette Camps in August 2017.
Summer 2017 Ringette Skills Development Camps will be held on the following dates and locations:
August 14 - 18 at the Leduc Recreation Centre
August 21 - 24 at Servus Place in St. Albert
All camps are five full days in duration, 9 am - 4 pm, daily.
Summer Ringette Skills Development Camps are for U10 (step 2 and 3), U12 and U14 & U16 aged players. Each age group is limited to 32 participants (30 skaters & 2 goalies) to ensure a very favorable student/instructor ratio, which is the hallmark of our Summer Ringette camps.
It is important to note that Summer Ringette Skills Development Camps are not designed, nor intended, to be solely conditioning camps. While a high activity level is present in many areas of the camps, the main focus is to develop and improve ringette skills, as well as contribute to the overall development of the athlete.
When registering your daughter for camp, please select the age category you would expect her to play at in September, 2017. All age groups in the camps receive a combination of power skating instruction, on-ice training, scrimmages and an off-ice skill & player development program. The camp schedule can be accessed by clicking the link on the bottom of this page.
The power skating component of the camps will be taught by Donna Stewart, an acknowledged expert with more than 30 years of power skating experience.
All other areas of the camps will be taught by members of the four time Canadian National Champion University Ringette Team. With an average of 15 years of playing experience, the camp instructors are some of the most skilled university ringette players in Canada today and are equipped with a wealth of ringette knowledge that will undoubtedly improve any young player's ringette skills. As well, University Ringette players are great role models for your daughter, demonstrating first hand that excellence in athletics and academics can go hand in hand. Most of the camp instructors are recipients of various ringette scholarships for excellence in academics and ringette.
The University Ringette team's goalie will be on hand at the camps to work with any individuals wishing to receive goaltending instruction. Please ensure you clearly indicate on the registration form if you desire goaltending instruction for your daughter. Only 2 registrations per age group will be accepted for this specialized area.
All camp registrants must wear full ringette equipment (including shoulder pads) in order to participate in any on-ice activities. For off-ice activities a sturdy pair of runners, shorts and a T-shirt are required. All participants will receive a Summer Ringette Skills Development Camp jersey. Ringette T-shirts will be available for purchase during the course of the camp.
Camp registrants will be provided with a supervised lunch area during each day of the camp. However, it is the responsibility of each participant to bring their own bagged lunch. There are concessions located in each of the three facilities where food & beverages can be purchased.
The cost to attend any of the Summer Ringette Skills Development Camps is $350 for U10 participants and $400 for U12, U14 & U16 particpants (includes all taxes & fees). Did you know that camp fees are eligible to be considered for a child care deduction on your personal income tax return.
If you wish to register your daughter in any of the Summer Ringette Skills Development Camps, then you will need to submit a fully completed camp registration form. This form can be found by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page. Please submit the completed form, along with your payment, to us via any of the various methods noted on the camp registration form. When a completed form and payment have been received by us, a camp spot will be reserved for your daughter.
Registration can not be done via phone as you must submit a completed registration form and payment. Please refer to the camp registration form for complete details.
Please be patient - we will acknowledge receipt of your camp registration form via email and confirm that a spot has been reserved for your daughter within 2 weeks. Please refrain from calling us to simply check on the status of the processing of your registration form.
