  1. How many players make the University Ringette Team roster?

A: Typically, we will take 15 skaters and 2 goalies. This number may fluctuate
slightly from year to year depending on interest

  1. How many times a week is the University Ringette Team on the ice?

A: Once league games get under way, the team is typically on the ice 2 times per
week. We understand that your school schedule is hectic and are fully committed to
working with our players to ensure they maintain a healthy school/sport balance.

  1. Does the team attend tournaments?

A: Yes, we will generally try to attend 2 tournaments a season. One away;
usually UCC’s and one local. Tournament attendance will be determined each season
by team and player availability

  1. Where is the teams home arena?

A: The team has ice throughout the greater Edmonton area.

  1. Is there a set ice time every week?

A: No. The team ice varies week by week.

  1. What are the volunteer commitments for the team?

A: The team needs specific individuals to help keep it running, such as social
media creator and minor officials’ scheduler, we look to athletes or family members to
assist with this. From a community perspective we host a few events with local
associations every season, some of these are volunteer and some are paid fundraising.
Athletes are expected to volunteer when available

  1. What fundraising does the team do?

A: The team hosts occasional camps, participates in evaluations, and does some
skills sessions for local association teams and athletes. Participation in these events is
paid and funds are also directed towards the team general fund to offset athletes team
fees.

  1. Do I pay registration fee’s to join the team?

A: As minor registration fee is paid to Ringette Alberta, which covers your
insurance for the season.

  1. What are the team fee’s for a season?

A: Team fee’s are typically $1500-1700 per season. Athletes can offset costs by
participating in paid fundraising events. Payments can be spread out over the season to
assist athletes with up front costs.
